Bragging on your spouse

She doesn't have an account.....yet but she has came so far in the last couple months I felt she deserved a thread for her accomplishments. Any other spouses feel free to brag on your significant others on here as well

First off My wife was in a car wreck 6 years ago from which, after surgery, the doctors said she would never be able to participate in any activity that put tension on her lower back (everything?) but when I met her she would not run because of the pain, she could carry anything heavier than she could pick up with one hand, etc. Since she has started crossfit fit everything has changed. she no longer complains about her lower back problem, she is getting through the wods as rx'd every day and she has changed her body into something she is proud of.

26(on sunday) 5'2" 133lbs.(shhh)

The most recent pr/benchmarks: 210lbs deadlift. - 9:45 "jackie"(1k row with her back? take that doctors) - Her first kipping pullup (monday) - and this morning she ran a sub 25 min. 5k....yes ran. 6 months ago she refused to even jog because of her back. Just so proud of her and what she has done. Thank you crossfit.

That is great to hear man. It is great to hear when folks don't take the easy way out, take the hard road, and make themselves better in the process. Awesome.

Re: Bragging on your spouse

The funniest part is it had taken me about a month of coaxing to get her up to a class for the first time. She was just too nervous about the other girls and not being in good enough shape to come in and compete. Now shes one of the top chickees in the class.

TO GIRLS OUT THERE THINKING ABOUT IT:
DONT BE SCARED! GET OUT THERE AND DO IT!

Re: Bragging on your spouse

Awesome thread, Justin!
You've got quite a gal there!
I'm pretty proud of mine also. Sue had spinal surgery for scoliosis (spelling?)
as a teen and has a metal rod in her back; later she had cancer surgery (successful, thank GOD), knee surgery, and then had to recover from a broken arm.
She's a tough Jersey girl and is working out regularly at this time..
All these gals deserve a lot of respect!

Awesome accomplishments! I'm glad you were able to get her to give it a try.
I never could get my (now ex) husband to try it.

Re: Bragging on your spouse

My wife is a Non Hodgkins Lymphoma survivor, and her first day Crossfitting will be Monday. I am more than proud for her to take this step. Congrats to you and your wife!
