Any cool customs at you box?

I am helping set up a new box, and looking for things that your box does or that you have heard of that are just a little bit special or fun.

I am thinking about things like a PR bell, that people ring when they hit a new PR.

Do you have any ideas that you are willing to share?

Thanks!

Along a similar line of thought...you could do a thing where if someone was going for a PR you could have everyone kind of gather around that person and make them the main focus at that time. It may not always be practical in every crossfit situation but when possible it really helps get the lifter jacked up for the task.

At my box we have a masters group.. (proud to be a member of this group)
we are : Old Dogs- New Tricks

any way we got together and bought a beautiful, large brass ships bell that hangs in the gym.. it gets rung by all who achieve a PB..

Re: Any cool customs at you box?

My gym has the typical "Girls WODs" and some "Hero WODs" RX PR's list up that get's updated everytime we do those workouts.

We don't do it, but I've seen gyms to the "Body Weight Club" with certain lifts as well as "Double Body Weight Club" or "1000's Club" on the CF Total.

I've also seen a neighboring gym do shirts for every pull-up milestone. "10, 20, 30, 40, ect." It's pretty cool to get a different color shirt with your gym logo and recognizing your PRs.

All of these "badges" that people get are awesome milestones for gym members.

Re: Any cool customs at you box?

yeah, I've seen "bragging boards" too where the girls and Hero WODs are listed and say, the top 5 times in the box are listed. that can also go for things like CFT, and 1RM for movements like DL, Squat, snatch, C&J, etc.

the ships bell is cool and seen that in a few boxes.

of course birthday WODs for members are always fun to make. a few things they're good and and a couple they suck at!

Re: Any cool customs at you box?

Love it! keep them coming!

I am building a bell made from cutting off the bottom half of an old CO2 tank. It looks very industrial and massive. I think it will work great as a PR bell.

The T shirt thing is something we will look at in the future, as funding loosens...

Bragging board is in the works too.

I will make sure that Birthdays get the punishment they deserve!

Thanks!
