Odd knee issue? - driving manual car

Thanks to all in advance. I searched but was unable to find anything that addressed this.

My left knee seems to be aggravated by driving a manual car (leg that works the clutch). The pain is just below the kneecap. No exercise I have tried makes it worse or better. The pain is the same whether I squat, plyo, train BJJ, run etc or just sit on my rump. Stretching, hottub soaks and icing don't seem to make any appcreciable difference either.

I never drive on the weekends and by Sunday evening my knee is fine. By Tuesday evening -- after four 30 minute commutes -- I am feeling it again.

I recently had to leave my car at a bodyshop and use an automatic transmission loaner for a week. After three days of driving an auto transmission, my knee feels fine.

Anyone know if this indicative of a larger issue or something I can address with a specific exercise or movement?

Again, thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Odd knee issue? - driving manual car

i've had this and had muscular imbalance on that leg.
i had other issues too like a wonky pelvis, inactive left glutes with the right doing most of the work and my gait was a bit off too.
chiropractor sorted the pelvis
saw a sports therapist about my walking and my gait is now much better.

still working on the imbalance in my glutes.
much better after literally one week of therapy exercises.

Is your foot turned out a lot?
Have you tried foam rolling your knee?

Google a picture and mark where it hurts and then reupload to an imagehost.

Pain in the knee can really be from anything though... could be knee problems, or foot issues referring to knee or hip issues referring to knee.

Best to see a physical therapist/chiro/doc for that albeit one that doesn't recommend orthotics if they conclude the feet are the problem.
