Sizing for Adidas Weightlifting Shoes

I know the general rule is to get a 1/2 size smaller than your everday shoes or the same size as your dress shoes, but what would you recommend when you have a variety of sizes? I have:
- Nike Zoom Waffle Racer IV: 11.5
- Johnston & Murphy dress shoes: 11.5
- Cole Hahn loafers: 10.5
- Bostonian dress shoes: 10
- GBX loafers: 10
- Five Fingers: 43

I'm trying to decide between a 10.5 or a 10.

Also, what are your thoughts on the difference between the AdiStar and the Ironwork II (the older versions, not the new, white, 2008 versions)?

And, for those that will say, "You should try the Rogues." I have and I found them to be a little too wide. I have pretty narrow feet.

Re: Sizing for Adidas Weightlifting Shoes

Are you buying the actual lifting shoes, or the Goodyears? I bought a pair of Goodyear adiracers, which are on clearance all over Europe. I tried on several pair, but found my actual foot size (11.5EE) was a perfectly snug fit. They have opened up slightly since, but not much, being all leather and tightly stitched. Just my two cents on the only Adidas I own.

I'm looking at getting the actual lifting shoes. Either the AdiStar or the Ironwork II.

Re: Sizing for Adidas Weightlifting Shoes

I have owned both types of Adidas shoes, but I will personally recommend Botev Sports' weightlifting shoe over either of them. They are approx. the same width as the adidas shoes and much better quality. They're cheaper too! You can buy them at Werksan.com, or directly from the distributor (whose email and phone number is at gwenweightlifting.blogspot.com)Link W/FS. I'd get a 10.5 just to be sure, but I know Gwen will help you out if they're too big.

I have Adistars, I wear a 9.5 dress shoe, a 10.5 running shoe (Nike, New Balance, Solomon) and a size 43 in Do-Win lifting shoes. My Adidas are size 9.5. My best guess for you would be size 10.5, based on your running shoe size and at least one of your dress shoes.

My WL-Adistars are the same size as my dress shoes & running shoes. Any smaller and I wouldn't be able to wear them.

Re: Sizing for Adidas Weightlifting Shoes

I wear a 10.5 Wide. Often I get size 11 shoes. A lot of my shoes are New Balances and I get the 11 4E.

I had to order my Adidas Weightlifting shoes over the phone and guessed that 10.5 would be good. The are a little small for me wish I had gotten an 11.

I think if you buy regular width shoes you should be fine with getting the 10.5.

Re: Sizing for Adidas Weightlifting Shoes

I am finally going to make the investment in some weightlifting shoes. I am going to get the Adidas ironworks since they are now the same price as Rogue Do-wins. So what size should I get?

I don't know what you all are talking about with all these different shoe sizes. Every pair of shoes I own is a size 12. So should I get the 11.5 Adidas?

I think one time I may have bought some nike running shoes in a size 13. But those were the only shoes in the last decade I bought that weren't size 12.

I run in the Mizuno Wave Rider 11s in size 8.5, do a lot of crossfit workouts in the original Nike Frees size 8.5, and my addidas adistars fit perfectly in a size 8.5.
