Re: Celebrities/Athletes in Open

Bob is weak sauce so far, but I believe his background is in endurance and ultra-marathon running, you would expect he could knock out burpees though.

As for the world champion lifter, she got a pretty decent score although with a max lifetime snatch of 120kg You would think that the weights would have been cake for her. The most weight lifted is less than half her max, but maybe she really fatigued doing burpees. With a bit of conditioning and her total she could be deadly within a year. I am sure the lure of $250,000 prize money is interesting.

Conditioning on the burpees plays a large part of it, I am sure. Plus doing 30 reps in a fast partition is different then doing it in a bunch of singles and doubles. There are some bigger male athletes (like Rob Orlando and Dave Lipson) that didn't even get to the 210# because of time/conditioning.

Badass! Posted 190. Nice! I hope she sticks with the open to the end. I'd love to hear how she does at WoDs not involving O-lifting.

And pretty cute, when she's not hauling ridiculously heavy barbells over her head. I wasn't expecting that when I looked up the name (for some reason I was expecting a guy. Not paying attention I guess).

Re: Celebrities/Athletes in Open

After watching the video of him doing some CF with Matt Chan, I was hoping to see Knowshon Moreno (Denver Broncos RB) compete.

Along the same lines, I was hoping Will Johnson (FB/TE) for the Steelers would do the Open.

Chad Vaughn is doing the Open. He was in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics in weightlifting in 77kg weight class. He only got 155 on 13.1.

Re: Celebrities/Athletes in Open

That just looks so incongruous to see 255 C&J and 210 snatch (while still definitely good lifts) against 815 DL and 850 squat.
