Re: 500 m row personal best

have done a 1:34.4 500m damper set on 4/5, with me @ about 237lbs.... completely no form, just going like a maniac started out on or over 50 stroke/min and tapered off down to 35 strokes/min. the chain wash slapping and flopping around like it was waving to everyone...

Now i have got some form and don't slap the chain around, can do 1:38's on about 25 strokes/min, will be working on going sub 1:30...

I prefer longer rows, usually 10,000m. My PB for that was 39:56 and it almost killed me, but I was dead set on doing the piece at a split rate of under 2:00/500M.

BTW, Alix, congrats on your 500m time. I think 1:42 is in the elite range for women.
Under 2:00/500 for that long is awesome - well done.

I did my first all out 500m sprint yesterday, set damper on 4, got 1:37. Not much technique to it I'm sure

Steve, at your age/wt/ht, you ought to do in the 1:30 range with proper technique and maybe some additional training. There are some pretty good resources on technique and damper setting on the concept2 website if you're interested. Good luck.

Re: 500 m row personal best

Just remember that from the catch position it goes "Legs, Back, Arms" to the finish, and from the finsih it goes "Arms, Back, Legs" to the catch. Just tell yourself that when you're warming up, it'll become second nature.

Thanks, it's something that I've never really done before, I was always a bit of a LSD runner before crossfit. I'll look further into technique & features of the C2, I remember seeing some graph about power output on somebodys screen once.
