i had a pilonidal cyst a few years ago, and it came back this weekend. it's basically an ingrown hair near the tailbone that gets infected. see for more info (work/family safe, until you get the pictures section, and they give you warning).
during the situps of CFWU this morning it popped and drained itself, which sucked for me. luckily i didn't bleed through my pants and i was able to go all out on squats. i actually didn't know that it had popped until i went to the showers. it hurts pretty bad tonight. i went to the doc this afternoon, he gave me some antibiotics to prevent any further infection and suggested that i get it removed once it heals. anybody had one of these before? i've read that if it only flares up a few times a year not to get the surgery. i also read that the surgery is not always effective and can make things worse. i'm thinking i might start shaving, using anti-ingrown hair treatments, and hope for the best.
on a side note, what can i do to replace situps for the next week or so? i'm definitely not doing the situps until it gets better. i'm thinking leg raises or knees to elbows at a 1:3 ratio.

Knees to Elbows are good -- but also you might try several 15 second L-sits.
