If you'd asked me two years ago if I would shell out the change to assemble a home gym I woulda looked at you funny and riposted something along the lines of "why I would I wanna do that, there's a Golds Gym just around the corner?" Of course, I was an idiot then.

Enter Crossfit and a new fitness paradigm and before you know it I'm all fired up about making funny noises in the garage and having neighbors wondering what all the huffing and puffing is about.

Thanks to all the posters on the Discussion Board who have shared their wealth of knowledge. With that advice I have assembled what I am very happy to describe as my home gym. My next to last major purchase was the rubber mats which I just finished installing this morning. (those suckers are heavy! maybe we could do an "installing mats for time" WOD)

Here we've got my C2, Chapman bar and Eleiko bumpers, Vulcan Rack, and Pillars of Power (I workout alone and this is occasionally very useful). Along with my improvised Oly lifting platform (one layer version with MDF in the middle).

Elite GHD, 45# PowerBlock dumbells, 20# and 12# Dynamax, and my 20# D-ball hiding behind the not-used-very-often bench.

And my rings hung off my 45 mm pullup bar. Paralettes are inside the house, I like to fall off them in the privacy of my carpeted living room.

And of course, the point of this exercise is that the equipment is getting used and I'm being abused, but my body is performing as it hasn't for a while and there is only more upside on the horizon. Thanks Crossfit!

Cheers,
Misael

Excellent job, Misal. Everything you need and nothing you don't. The total opposite of most gyms nowadays. Plus it's always open and there's never any lines to use the equipment.

I guess the funny thing is that even when I was very into it I never really liked going to a public gym, so I once (gulp! confession time) actually bought a Bowflex. I know! I know! Don't say it. But fortunately I regained my senses even then and returned it before the 30 days was up.

Mike, you must be prescient. In which case, could you PM me the winning lottery numbers for this Wednesday? :harhar00:
