Re: Designing Websites for Affiliates!

This is a discussion board, not an advertising board.

Yes, I just "bumped" this to the top again (even though it was already at the top), but I suggest that we let it settle from here on out.

Re: Designing Websites for Affiliates!

ok, that was uncalled for. First off, why not get your website from a fellow crossfitter in the community. Yes, I am CrossFit West Chester. I am simply offering a better solution for affiilates. I can get people very good deals on a crossfit website.

Wow Lisbeth, what's the big deal? It's just keeping it in the family. If new affiliates have to get websites anyway, why not get them from another crossfitter????

Re: Designing Websites for Affiliates!

James, I suggest that you contact affiliatesupport@CrossFit.com in order to complete your affiliation and, in doing so, complete the steps to have "Affiliate" status placed under your name so that we can all easily see that you are an affiliate. Currently, you are not listed as an official affiliate in our system until all aspects of your affiliation are complete.

Also, I would like to refer to the section of the user guidelines to this board with the following wording: "Don't use the board for personal announcements and profiteering. A discretely placed website reference is generally considered acceptable, but the board is not a place for non-CrossFit organizations to advertise their programs. Commercial postings may be allowed by regular forum contributors at the moderators' discretion."

Many CrossFit affiliates own other businesses that cater to the interests and needs of other affiliates. A supportive community is encouraged. My interest is this discussion is merely to ensure that I don't wake up to a "Running A CF Facility" forum that has converted from a discussion board to an advertising board. Hence, my comment, particularly when, at first glance to anyone without access to our affiliate data management system, you would appear not to be an affiliate and the majority of your posts would only be to promote a business other than a CrossFit affiliate. I am certain that if you look at the matter from this viewpoint, you can see where I'm coming from. I am only looking to protect the interests of all in this board.

Please, feel free to carry on. I'll leave the rest to the moderators and return to my position running the Affiliate Program.

Re: Designing Websites for Affiliates!

Sorry, my mistake -- just rechecked through a different interface. (Technically 1/7/2009 is the date your affiliate account was activated.)

So why not follow the instructions in the e-mail and give your info to Lynne and get "Affiliate" under your name and access to the private Affiliate Forum? Then perhaps we'd be used to seeing your name and affiliate name around these parts.

It would only enhance your board experience.
