Can someone explain the wod... Ithink it means do 7 sets of your max deadlift..is that correct? As a new member it seems to be rather light...

Thanks,

Correct. And sure, it won't hurt afterwards, but you can't do much more than that and keep it up for long. Whole deal with trading intensity, volume, and recovery. And it will likely be followed with with some kind of metabolic hell tomorrow. THe total system depletion that you start getting from that kind of heavy work is surprising. And if pulling a max dead doesn't sound hard...get a bigger max dead. Relish the ones that don't make you puke- they do good in shoring up basic fitness qualities and give you needed rest.

I second that. You pray for these focus days. Plus, they're fun! Try for a new PR.

Chris,
Seven sets of your 1rm deadlift should not be easy. Make sure each lift is an honest 1 rep max.
If it is still easy then that just means you will be better prepared for tomorrow, personally I am dreading tomorrows WOD.

Heck, I make it even easier and work up to a PR. I'll probably try new prs with the last 2 reps. Christopher, in about a month you'll be begging for these focus workouts!

This does not mean that your first three deads are warmups. This means lifting your one rep max seven times. For me that is somewhere between 350lbs-375lbs (BW 165). Doing this seven times is in no was easy.
I do these as straight leg deads not as the bent leg deadlift. They hurt. My body usually just shakes for a couple hours afterwards.

Have fun buddy *grin*.
