1/2 cup?

Is a "cup" a liquid measurement? I was using the CF journal 21 to get some meal ideas and alot of measurements were in cups but for solid foods?

I'm confused.

Re: 1/2 cup?

It's a volume measurement. Of course, when you're measuring solids like broccoli or apples, you almost HAVE to cut it up to measure it like that. And then you have the dilemma of how coarse/fine to chop, etc.
Bottom line - just estimate.

Re: 1/2 cup?

Most cooked veggies have a density of 4 oz. per 1/2 cup.
I find it easier to just weigh things knowing that.
