wod 11 32/m/193 nyc
rx'd
26:25 PR today
-7:25 off of my second wod, the last time this came around a few weeks ago.
I also did my weekly weigh in, lost 3 lbs zoning and crossfit working.

This WOD really emphasizes how much weight you carry. I could feel it all over, and I think 20-30lbs lighter I could blaze this WOD. I am still pretty much a fat ***, but now like one of those strangely fit stocky guys. I am usually a thin fit guy so I have some work to do in the eating dept. With all of the food I have access to at home and work, this has been the biggest challenge. I can stay consistent working out, but the food is my weakness. Overall weight goal, 160lbs, March 2008. Since March 2007 -32lbs.

this was all about form. Up until Crossfit I was going way too shallow in my squats, barely breaking parallel. I have the flexibility so worked on going deep below parallel like I see in the videos, and keeping proper back form.

also - max pushups 2min-PR 45
row - 10 min easy
Kipping practice
Burgener warm up - 5 min

rest day much needed. Sore legs, 90 min FREE!! massage on tap for tomorrow. 7 days crossfit in a row.

And I received my official Buddy Lee jump rope last night and tested out in my hallway at 12:30am. Used it for my warm up today and I loved it. I will be DU'ing soon.

Re: Puckett's Log

15 min jump rope warm up
WOD number 14
body weight 193ish

bp/pu
3(185)/4
6(155)/4
6(155)/3
5(155)/3
5(155)/3

now working in bench, to do more often, at least every four days. I thought pushups would translate to bench press, but obviously they dont. Started off with 185, got three reps.. no good. Backed down to 155 to get 5-6 solid reps in each set. I am tired, baby up all night, and I think I have a cold.

crossfit wod number 15

all five deadlift(3x) sets 205lbs.

plus roughly 20 minutes jumprope.. on my buddy lee jumprope

Dear Smith Machine,

I ****ing hate your guts. You made me believe I could deadlift 275. I was so happy after this. Thought I was a ****ing superman.
Anyhow, when I went and tried an actual squat rack I sucked. 205 for 3 reps x 5 sets. I felt betrayed. But stronger, like I actually did more work.
Anyhow Smith Machine, I am done with you, you are dead to me now. CP

Re: Puckett's Log

no wod today. In Rome. Walked about 6 hours with my 23lb. 8 mo old strapped to my chest in a carrier. She loved it. I was drenched in sweat, and finding and set of stairs or hill I could run up. In this city, thats easy.

eating fairly well. Cooking in our apartment makes a huge difference over eating out a lot. Hopefully I will have time to go for an actual run. 6+ hour planned each day with Lily walking around, need to walk as fast as possible and take all of the stairs and hills.

Re: Puckett's Log

again no WOD today, walked all over Rome, about 4 hours with Lily in the carrier. Climbed Palentine Hill, ran up a few stairs with her. I skipped today and could have done it in the apartment. Saw the Roman Forum, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Had an incredible dinner, been eating a lot. Cooking lunch for Lisa in our apartment, fresh pasta, sausage and veggies. Amazing parmeson cheese & salami. The dinner tomorrow night will be the best so far, the restaurant is one of the best in Rome, Trattoria de Monti.

I really dont give a **** that I am way out of the Zone. How often do I come to Italy? Being a cook and food lover I would be punishing myself to not enjoy some of the best food in the world. I will miss my weight loss goal of 175 by Dec 31. I am about 190, this last month has been tough with a bad cold, work and travel.

Re: Puckett's Log

yesterday 12/13, walked 3-4 hours with baby in carrier. Did tour of the Colosseum. Walked around. Went home, ate lunch, fell asleep with baby for like 3 hours. i needed it.

The Colosseum is incredible. I think about how the Galdiators trained. Presumabley an ancient form of Crossfit. So in celebration last night I did a 50/50/50 of pushups, air squats and burpees just to keep me honest. Rome has incredible food, everywhere. Last night, ate at the Trattoria de Monti. Had fried lamb brain. Delicious

Today 12/14 Fast, brutally fast 4 hours with 22+lb baby in baby carrier all around Rome. Went south and climbed Aventino hill. Walked through the forum again. Bought my wife a nice dress.
