Is our posture all wrong?
I recently heard a review of '8 Steps to a pain free back'. The video linked below (of the author giving a lecture) makes some references to how our back should be naturally from describing children, traditional tribesmen and women, and statues from long ago. She makes some sense, but it goes against what I have been taught. The video is about an hour long, but if you are interested in back health it is an interesting counterpoint to current wisdom.
I post it to the Crossfit community since we are pretty open to new ideas and seem to like eating and exercising the way we were made to.
Some of the things she says I try to follow, like not bending over with my spine, but rather hinging at the hips. But keeping the pelvis pushed back and not in and tight seems strange. Frankly that hurts my lordotic arch. Am I just not seeing things straight?
