44lb weighted muscle-up

Got the notion to try weighted muscle-ups for a 1RM today, something I've never tried. Managed to turn over 44lb (20kg), using a dumbbell between the legs, deadhang on rings, from a kneel on the floor at slightly less than full extension (due to space issues, but no biggy, the bottom's the easiest part -- that's just a weighted pullup).

Thought I could manage more, but not today. Great core workout, too

Anyway, I was pleased. What can I say? Few enough strengths, need to milk the ones I've got...

Oh Ryan, I'm sorry

I don't even feel that proud of it, since it's not like I worked for it; you dudes who have been busting your asses to get your MU have more to be proud of. I've just always been good at this for some reason (internal rotation, I guess?). I'm a natural arm wrestler as well...

Must...not...assassinate!

Well, I suppose it gives people a good goal to shoot for besides just a muscle up. I'll get BWx1 very soon here.

Re: 44lb weighted muscle-up

Ok Brandon, the pity just made it worse. Seriously though good work. I love to come to these message boards to get put in my place. When I work out around knuckle heads my ego starts to get too big. Then I come here and realize I'm just an itty bitty fish. Keep setting the bar high and I'll keep chasing.

Re: 44lb weighted muscle-up

Not too shabby man.

My best is 55 lbs although that wasn't a 1 RM so you've still got some room to grow, hehe . These are really rough on the wrists and elbows though.. wouldn't do them a lot. I'm not an arm wrestler, and I've always sucked at it.. don't think it's the internal rotation. More along the lines of a very good full ROM row at the farthest point.
