I really haven't noticed anything like that.

If I remember correctly Steve had a link to iHerbs on his article that gave you a discount. I'm going to re-order here and use it myself.

..But I must attribute some of it to the Vitamin D.

I have about 1 week left at this dose before I cut back to 5,000 IU.

Also, I know you wrote that if you drink a lot of milk, Vit-D supplementation probably isn't necessary - am I right or did I misread that? I plan on starting GOMAD when I get back to the states and am not sure if I should still be taking 5kIUs.
GOMAD is approximately 1,600 IU.

So take that into account. It's some but it's not much... compared to the 5k-10k IUs I've been taking as well as others.

let me try to fix it:

- Blood levels of vitmain D are measured in ng/mL or nmol/L (nmol/L = ng/mL x2.5)
- Vitamin D doses are given in either IU (International Units) or micrograms (ug = IU/40). So 10,000 IU = 250 micrograms.
You're right. 1 IU is approximately 25 ng for reference.

I should point out that I have recently jumped on the WODs a lot more regularly that I had been. So there could be some other things, but I thought I'd ask since I did just start taking D3 right before noticing my clothes fitting differently.

Only thing about D3 and weight is its supposed to help with weight loss. So far I know something has changed...not for the better, clothes wise
I gained approximately 3-5 lbs of weight... mostly lean body mass (noticable muscle gains) within the first 5-6 weeks.

I can't speak for you though.. if you were deficient I would expect some lean mass gains especially if you are working out on something like CF.

And, I hit my first winter in a cold climate last year for the first time in 6 years. (2/3 of my life spent in Phoenix and Miami). I forgot that I ALWAYS had seasonal depression when I lived in North Carolina before. I need to get on Vitamin D right away.
Yeah, I provided a link in the article. Cheapest one I know of at 5,000 IU/pill + discount. Comes out to around $10-11 for 360 pills.

Re: Steve Gibson's follow-up on Vitamin D

Interesting, the only thing I read (and forgot, I'm taking 5000 IU pills, just 1 a day) was that its helped with muscle gains or whatever...so that makes sense. I'm thinking I need to readjust my diet and clean it up again (got lazy) because I am working out quite a bit more than I was previous...so less fat loss, more muscle gain, that's why I don't feel fatter, just bigger.

The biggest change I've noticed is I do sleep a bit better and more important than that, I seem to be in an all around better state of mind. If that makes sense. That could also be because of working out more intensely on a 3 on 1 off schedule...so all those things seem to be positive...now if I could just get my pants to fit again!

Yep, feelings of wellness tend to increase (including mental health) + better sleep seems to be a big one as well from some of the testimonies I've seen.

I had the same effect when I took the regular flu vaccine . . . felt poor for a few days, but D seemed to help. As did the squats. Still waiting for my H1N1.

iHerb has the large bottles of D back in stock, check Steven's article for a coupon code if interested. Probably the bets deal on D out there right now, tho I am partial to Carlsons.
/end plug.

Will have to check Costco out. That would be a good deal.

Toxicity:

There are others, of course.

There are at least two studies out ther that looked at the effects of short term mega-doses of D, and found no ill effect from doing so (that was not the purpose of the study, just an after-effect).

Yeah, I included some stuff about toxicity in the article. Clay gave you other good links too though.
