Muscle UP walkthrough by Outlaw

Know nick and Daniel both and funny to see them side by side on this.

Cant say fully Safe & All because rudy drops some curse words but only like 3xs?

Otherwise its Safe (no bad images besides terrible muscle up form on Nicks part )

Glad ya all like it.

Nick posted on his FB page a new video if him doing it like Daniel and it looks soooooo effortless now. Nicks a big boy and has always struggled with the firm on this. Rudy did a great job pointing out the flaws that he has (as so do most of us)

I would challenge anyone to video take what they are doing and compare theirs to what Rudy says (and Daniel does).

Working with proper technique is a lot better than flailing around hoping to get above the rings

I'm poking around Facebook and can't find Nick's page. Do you have a link to his new video? I'd love to see his improvement.

This guy posted a couple videos of his muscle-up improvement. His first video looks just like Nick and his second much more like Daniel. Pretty cool. http://board.crossfit.com/showthread.php?t=85682 (wfs)

I watched and my only question would be about how high Dan's feet get. I thought anything above the rings was a no rep.

I have been very careful about this very thing.

Otherwise a really good video. Will have to capture one on coaches eye and compare.

There is some discussion about this in the comments at the bottom of their webpage. The coach said he read the CrossFit rules that said the heels can't be above the bottom level of the rings, and thinks Daniel's feet are just below that.

I take it as: most efficient form vs. within competition rules. I'm never going to compete, so I don't have to worry about the latter.

Go to the crossfit fond du lac page. It's his box and the video is there

We have discussed it some too since I'm a hard judge in competitions.

The feet are on that breaking point of being too high but Daniel modifies it some to not have that issue in competitions (he had fastest 30 Mu).

Once you have the basics down of hollow and bow position, the feet height is easily modified to be a good rep vs a no rep
