Re: Bumper plate recommendations?

Derek, The Hi-Temp are durable and I like them a lot, but they are smaller in diameter than other iron and bumper plates. In the original post, he stated he had iron weights already; if you use iron on the ends with Hi-Temp, the iron hits the floor first when using 45's. With the Pendlay and VTX the diameter is the same as my iron plates, and they seem to touch at the same time. I believe this puts less stress on the bar if dropped. ALL of my Pendlay econ bumpers have loose insets [some near falling out]. I'm the only on who uses them and I don't believe I have miss treated them. The VTX have a superior insert and I've experienced no problems with them.

Re: Bumper plate recommendations?

If Hi-Temp could make bumpers 450 mm diameter, I believe that is the only ones I would buy. They are durable and made in the USA.

Re: Bumper plate recommendations?

I was looking at hi temps in a set of 15# and 10#. I have some off brand bumpers with the steel inserts that I love. Dead bouncs and very durable, but I dont have any 15#s and my tens from Wright rubber and to thin and have bent to sh#t. I would only use the hi temps with each other since I have enough weight of the others to do heavy lifts. Should I look at anything else or are Hi temps the way to go? You can see my bumpers at on "my garage gym" post here.
