I'll PM you. It's not some big secret, but it's based on MY current numbers and goals, so I would hate for anyone to think that Rip is recommending this to everyone. If anyone else wants to discuss it, they can also PM me.

The article didn't argue that point, that is called "Novice Gains". Take anyone that doesn't work out and place them in a workout program and they will tends to improve.

Wayne,

I was far from a novice when I began CFing. There was still great improvement. It also allowed me to consolidate my strength and endurance efforts, with some improvement at both.

Tamara,

I agree with your post. There are a lot of mistakes that newcomers make, especially in the recovery area. I made a lot of them. The biggest was trying to combine a robust S&C program (MP) with an aggressive runnig/swimming plan. It took three years to crash completely and about 1 1/2 to pull out, with some chronic injury. So you're probably right, but most folks won't stay on SS (or a hybrid)for three years, 'cause it won't continue to work. And most people won't stick to a plan as far past the point it stops working as I did (dammit, I like running, MetCons and heavy things)
