Re: Returned From Deployment - Where'd People Go?

Some of them post over at ********* now also I think.

It is part of the ~2 year cycle I have observed here. The most active and engaged posters are also the ones who are trying to learn and working the hardest at setting goals and improving. In the course of this they start to learn things contrary to what is touted as the official line at HQ. As they start to voice potentially contrary ideas in what they think is an open source, best practices win out environment they are met with resistance, rejection, and insults and ultimately are either banned or leave of their own accord.

Has happened a couple times since I have been here, and happened at least once before I joined. Sadly it has lead to the loss of many of the most interesting and engaging posters

Edit 1: apparently that is a bad word... Iron **** x is what I was trying to type, another forum that they really don't like here.
Edit 2: well I guess they really don't like it... I will just stop trying.

Re: Returned From Deployment - Where'd People Go?

I left on my own, but I peek in every now and then. I'm moderating on both the Whole30 forum and Robb's forum; I bought a house this summer (which is why I disappeared, Blair), so my spare time has been over there, renovating the kitchen...not putzing around on the internet.

Thanks for serving, John and welcome home!

We're all on facebook if you want to keep up with our antics, though mine are far less full of histrionics than Tam's are: https://www.facebook.com/renee.lee001 (my content's sfw; cannot guarantee that what Tam posts to my page is)

Tam's tend to involve music that makes you want to blow out your ears.

Bad like cats dying or nails on a chalkboard. Not sure which. Yes, it's that ****ing bad.

Congratulations on the new house, Renee. In the Boston area must have cost a pretty penny.

To the OP, sometimes people just move on. I still lurk, but rarely post. I'm back in school and thus too busy to argue with people about fitness on the internet.
