AF/Klokov stuff
I have been waiting patiently for Again Faster to release the Klokov bar and discs. They have. I have been hunting relentlessly for kg bumpers waiting for a good price to drop. AF prices seem to be on par with the mid level stuff. 140kg and a 20kg bar for $1190 is not bad although that doesn't include shipping and no change plates. So if you have no kg change, add another 200ish bucks for a set somewhere else.
$869 for 140kg set is an OK price shipped to me on the left side is $1072. Certainly not the bargain of the century. The barbell at $320 is worth a look and I have read good reviews. Sadly, the chances of me ever seeing the stuff in person is nil but I look forward to the reviews. https://www.againfaster.com/shop/klo...ampaign=klokov |

Re: AF/Klokov stuff
Just did a test and I'm getting 153.00 for shipping on the Klokov bar?

Re: AF/Klokov stuff
If they get the shipping sorted out, the bar seems like a huge bargain, especially in Chrome and bearings and the ridiculous tensile strength
Edit: just checked again and it is $44 shipping FedEx to California |

Re: AF/Klokov stuff
John, how is the whip on this bar? It says it has great whip for heavy OLY lifts...My best snatch is 235lb -no where near his 400lb+ snatch. With the tensile strength being what it is, I'm curious if I would feel the whip at all at my light weights.
Thanks for the input! |

Re: AF/Klokov stuff
How's the knurling? I have read a good review of the bar. I don't have any intention of picking up the bar but at the price, it could certainly would be a good spare.

Re: AF/Klokov stuff
Ya the bar is 28 mm, but it's dual-marked.
The knurling is really good. It's very easy to hold on to, doesn't slip, and doesn't hurt. Knurling is getting good lately, I like it! Patrick, whatever process this shaft underwent to be 264,000 PSI has made it feel more rigid at lower weights. Two wheels is about where it becomes whippy. Drop down to 185 and you're not going to think it has a lot of whip. Fun bar. Rotation is excellent, and knurl like I said is done very well. The sleeves have both bearings and bushings. Word is the bar spins on its bearings, but the bushings are there to absorb the shock of being dropped since bearings are more fragile. |
