One strap or two!
So I'm in the market for a new pair of oly shoes and I can't figure out if I should get a pair with one strap or two. The current pair I own have one strap.
So please, tell me your pros and cons. Let me know why you chose the oly's that you chose and why you love or hate them! |

Re: One strap or two!
Doesn't matter to me.
I've got a pair of the new Pendlays 2013 with two and some old Do-Wins with 1. No difference when it comes to straps. My 2011's had one strap. |

Re: One strap or two!
i went from the original Lifter to the Lifter Plus and honestly cant feel too much of a difference from the second strap. and btw, the Adipower is one strap and still considered to be one of the best weightlifting shoe in the world so i can assume that even one strap one done right is just fine.

Re: One strap or two!
John,
I wouldn't sweat the choice. The "heel" strap is the one to worry about; it keeps your foot firmly planted in the heel cup by depressing the upper, and stops your weight from sliding forward in the shoe. The "toe" strap compresses the upper a bit, and was most likely added to oly shoes at the request of elite-level lifters who wanted more tension around the ball of the foot. I lift in Nike Romaleos, which have both straps, and I never adjust or tighten the toe strap. Find the shoes that fit your price point, read the reviews to make sure they hold up to frequent lifting, and go from there. I hope that helps. Best, Jon |
