Making my own Infinity Rig Steel question

I can only get 2" x 3" rectangular steel in 6mm. Does anyone know what I could expect as far as load capacity for 6mm steel used in this fashion. Westside uses .11 gauge for this. But, I ain't Westside.

Re: Making my own Infinity Rig Steel question

6mm is double the wall thickness of 11 gauge. I hope you won't need to move it around much! That will be very strong as long as your welding is done well - with that thick steel you can end up with cold joints if the welder isn't high enough power.

I'll be working out of Cajamarca for most of September. It'd be cool to get some workouts in if you are set-up.

Re: Making my own Infinity Rig Steel question

Thanks a lot. I was thinking 11 gauge=11mm. So, I have been looking for 11mm. Good to know. 5 and 6mm are easier to get. I am going to place my order this week and hopefully it will all be here by the time your here. If not, we could definitely get together and go through some stuff at the gym I work out at now. Send me an email when you arrive. jfbailey@hotmail.com

Re: Making my own Infinity Rig Steel question

gauge sizing is roughly : thickness in inches=1/gauge

11 gauge is about 3mm.

I'll send a note when I am down. Good luck with your build-out
