Re: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Tamara's log

7/7/11

Snatch:
1 x 25 kg
1 x 30 kg
1 x 35 kg
1 x 39 kg

They all deserved a boom.

Clean and jerk:
1 x 39 kg - Power clean, forward on jerk
1 x 48 kg - Solid jerk, but front foot was a little shallow
1 x 52 kg - Got my front foot out more
1 x 58 kg - Again, not perfect, but a good lift

Squat:
1 x 135 lbs
1 x 145 lbs
1 x 135 lbs
1 x 145 lbs

I was supposed to laugh while I did these. I actually did laugh when I squatted the first rep.

I was instructed to make the ground shake today. I think I got as close as I could.

Leaving for Savannah tomorrow morning. I lift at 5:00 pm on Saturday.

Re: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Tamara's log

Well, I've had a few drinks and a few hours to get over my grumpiness.

Snatch:
45
47
50 - No lift. And, by that, I mean it wasn't even close.

I was crushed by this. Crushed. My snatch has been a complete effing wreck lately, but I went 47-50-52 at my last meet and even 45-47-50 at Masters Nationals, which was months ago. It was a real struggle to pull my head out of my @ss and get it together for clean and jerk.

Clean and jerk (all power cleans):
64 - Nailed it
66 - Killed the clean. Everything was off balance with the jerk. No lift. My coach said, "Do you want 66 again?" I said, "I want 70." He said, "That's awesome." I know.
70 - Killed the clean. No lift on the jerk. It wasn't super pretty, but I did lock it out. 2 reds, 1 white.

I'm really glad I went for 70. That would have been a small jerk PR. I decided that if I was going to go 3 for 6 then hell if I wasn't going to try to go 4 for 6 and hit 70. Why do I need a 66 jerk? That's not a PR. I've already hit that at a meet. Screw 66. I wanted 70.

I can't explain my level of grumpiness about this.

111 total.

I had a 118 total at my May meet.

So grumpy.

And, I won a damn gold medal for that. By default.

Anyway, I did get over my grumpiness. I have gone 6 for 6 at my last two meets. No one goes 6 for 6 all the time. And, jesus, has my snatched sucked @ss lately.

Even though it was a no lift, I've never put 70 overhead from the front rack, so I am happy about that.

Also, at Masters Nationals, I went 52-57-60 on my jerk. I opened at 64 today. Super happy with that.

I don't know when my next meet is, and I don't care.

Thanks .

I am laughing reading my log this morning. Wow, was I mad yesterday.

I'm fine today. I am ready to train and get better. Good thing I have a 5+ hour drive home to force me to take the day off.
