Our first seminar is on March 25, and was wondering how many other affiliates are holding seminars and how it is going for them.
Are you mostly covering one main topic or a variety of them?
Our first is covering boxing fundamentals, body-weight conditioning, and kettlebells.

I've done three. First one was for the organizers of the Sedona Marathon. This was 2 weeks out from the marathon, so I talked about last minute prep for the race. This was at a local coffee shop.

Second seminar was at my gym, "What Is Fitness?" Pretty much straight from the Crossfit Journal. This got my name in the local paper, a half-page article on Crossfit and the upcoming seminar. Third seminar was yesterday, "Optimizing Your Home Gym Workouts".

Attendance has been light, but I've gotten clients and calls from all three including people who couldn't make the seminar.

Lincoln, thanks for the feedback.
That sounds worthwhile even if the attendance is light.
I appreciate it.

I try to do something every month or so. So far primarily 2 hour minis. Intermediate/basic kettlebells, basic O-lifting. Been getting decent attendance, 3-10 typically.

I've been finding that I'm getting people who live too far away to make regular workouts, or don't have/don't want to spend the money for more frequent. The shorter time frames seem to work well also--they can make it in for a workshop on Saturday, and still make it home by dark.

"...and still make it home by dark."

Anyone who lives in the Phoenix area understands just how true that is. :-)

Hiya all,

In London, it is pretty much our main focus at the moment (seminars).

We don't have a 'concrete' facilty and so have been using venues such as halls where those of us who've attended certs can pass on techniques and advice etc.

So far we have done seminars on;

Olympic lifting
Bodyweight drills
Basic gymnastics (ie handstands/muscle ups)

We have a Kettlebell seminar coming up as well as one with Jeff Martin based on whatever madness he wants to throw at us....

Evidence so far shows that this is real popular over here, regular attendance of 30 plus.

Cheers,

Karl

Bryan, I just was in contact with the supplier and they should be available by the end of March.
I'm grabbing an 80lb and 88lb as soon as they come in!
I'll be posting updates in my newsletter, if you'd like me to put you on the suscriber list let me know.
Also, if you're down this way later this month we've got the "Triple Threat" Seminar which will include kettlebell training.
