Do any Crossfitters do anything special to aid post-workout recovery?

I have experimented with alternating hot/cold showers, cryotherapy (applying ice to trained areas). Cryotherapy hurts like hell but I think it has some potential. The best thing I have ever done however is get 10 hrs of sleep/night. A nap (after a good meal) post workout is incredible as well.

Some of the Bulgarian training hall tapes shows guys lifting, wandering over to the sidelines and taking a nap for 20 min and then comming back to train.

I wholeheartedly concur with Rob's sleep advice. 8 hours is for regular mortals.. crossfitters need more.

I use cryotherapy and hot cold showers after each workouts. I also find that a sports massage 2 times a month works wonders(If I could afford it I would get one every week). Also make sure to get a protein/carb drink in after each workout.

A few active recovery workouts per week are a good idea as well to get the blood flowing and accelerate recovery.
