I was looking at the MD website and noticed they have a lot of supplements. I was just wondering what (if any) supplements any of you take. I'm at about 15%BF right now and trying to get below 10 but not lose weight(stay at 155) any supplements related to that would definitely help.

Fish Oil. Multi Vitamin. Creatine.

These are what I do. You will get many varied answers but this is a good start.

Keep a clean diet most importantly.

Take supplements for health..not for fat loss. Diet is more key for fat loss than any supplement will ever give you. But for health I take:
Fish Oil
Digestive Enzymes
ProBiotics
Flaxseeds
Vit C
(If I have the $) L-Glutamine
(on occasion when $ is around) Green Powders
(on occasion) Milk Thistle (for liver health)

The first two supplements that everyone gets from me (if they're diet was already supplying them in sufficient amounts in correct form, they wouldn't need to be talking to me, in other words):

A REALLY good probiotic (contact me off-list if you are interested)

A high-quality cod liver oil (I only use Green Pastures and/or Nordic Naturals at this point in time).

Other things are added as needed (by health priority) and within budgetary constraints. Remember, good food is always cheaper in the long run. Convenience tends to be inversely proportional to health.

No...Cod Liver oil adds Vit A and D. If you do not get alot of sun, might just want to take Cod Liver in the winter...Fish oil in the summer.

Sam-

If you don't get much sun, CLO is the way to go. If you are worried about not getting enough EPA/DHA (CLO has a bit lower dosages of these than fish oil), then you can take a little fish oil on top of the CLO.

As Mike said, if you are out in the sun in the summer, you will want to switch the CLO out for fish oil so you don't get too much Vitamin D.

Not sure you need the flaxseed Oil. Flaxseed is an Omega 3 but needs to be downcoverted by several processes to yeild DHA and EPA (fish oil basically). It's not a efficient conversion...so alot of Flaxseed only gives you a little Fish Oil (in simple terms). If you need fat for the diet try X-virgin Olive oil...just a thought.

Probiotics are the "good" bacteria that your gut needs for optimal health. Antibiotics kill ALL bacteria (good and bad), sugar feeds bad bacteria, other factors like stress and gut irritants can throw the balance off.....essentially most of us are walking around with too much Bad bacteria and not enough Good...so Probiotics daily will help keep the Good bacteria in the gut and then you have to also keep the bad bacteria in check.

Healthy Gut...healthy body.

Dr G can give you more info on which Probiotics are better than others.
