Re: The Official Smolov Support Thread

Outside of upper body supplementary work, I would say if you do anything else while doing Smolov you will burn out after a couple days.

The workouts are extremely taxing.

Re: The Official Smolov Support Thread

I appreciate the feedback... I was thinking about only going as far as the base cycle, but I'll forgo it.

Re: The Official Smolov Support Thread

Hey yall. I did the intro cycle and now I'm on week 1 of the base. So far, so good.

I am very interested in running Smolov Jr for bench. I googled it but found a bunch of T Nation posts, etc. Anyone have a link to an authoritative source on the subject / a reputable thread / the breakdown? Thanks.

--Just downloaded the "smolov jr.xls" spreadsheet from T Nation. Yea or nay?

Re: The Official Smolov Support Thread

Soooooooo here i am! im back! I finished intense cycle Friday march 22. Then i went on vacation the whoole past week. Ate like a ****ing pig, and rested so much. Yesterday I came to the gym to test my new PR. But something wasnt right, i was feeling weak. I started warming up, hit my old PR from the base cycle at 320, but it was sooooo demanding. i wasnt prepared for it. I guess the 9 days vacations and eating crap made me a little weaker haha. So i decided not to PR this week and to restart Smolov Intense cycle last week. So yesterday i did the the first day of the last week. Next week ill PR.

Goes without saying that not eating right for more than a week would affect your physical condition.

You should be fine though after a week or so of lifting. During my deload weeks I don't eat that clean either, and after a week of being back on the horse my numbers went back where they were supposed to be.

Probably unnecessary to start over. I'd just do 2 light workouts the week of maxing, then try again.

Re: The Official Smolov Support Thread

Been out sick since my last day of Smolov base. I don't think it's coincidence that I got sick after running smolov. Luckily I am supposed to take this week off anyways and test my new max come Friday. I will report back with the results.... 405 or BUST!
