Hello All,

What is the first step in setting up a proper nutritional program? I simply do not know how to eat right or how to plan meals! I'm new to cf, been into ma for years, and I just don't want the hard work to go to waste...any help is appreciated.

The general prescription here is to start with The Zone - pick up Enter the Zone and/or Master the Zone by Barry Sears. From there, alot of people mess with the macronutrient ratios, increasing fat and/or decreasing carbs to see where they feel/perform the best. And a great deal of us follow The Paleo Diet by Dr. Loren Cordain - he has a book and a website at www.thepaleodiet.com.

Coach Glassman's easy to remember prescription is: "Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that support activity but not body fat."

hi steven
maybe it's just terminology, but i wouldn't look at it as a nutritional program. healthy eating should be a habit, and not a program.

i'd review what you normally eat, and start eliminating junk food, sugar, starch/grains/etc., alcohol. make the changes slowly or drastically. depending on what feels right for you.
if you keep reading this forum, you'll find out what's good and what's bad.
