DIY Power rack extension/ Rogue Castro

I currently have this power rack which is 3x3 with 1" holes and 7' height. I am looking for advice on how i can possibly attach/build a pull-up rig–squat rack much like the Rogue castro rig is built (12' and 9' posts). Pretty much want to add 6' to my 4' power rack. advice?

Don't think it would work with that rack. Rigs like the Castro are bolted down. Not sure i'd want to be 10' up dangling when that rack tips.

If you argue with physics, you will lose.

If you want to do something like this I would go to your local metal shop. Have them make some U type braces that can cup around the bottom and then bolt them to the ground. As for the extra height speak with them and they should be able to make something up. If you don't have the tools or are used to working with metal I would stick with buying a finished product or getting a fab shop to take care of you.

Re: DIY Power rack extension/ Rogue Castro

I have the same Rack as pictured and I have it bolted to my concrete garage floor.

I drilled 4, 3/8 holes through each corner of the square stock on the rack, placed it where I wanted it and marked the holes on the concrete. I then used a 3/8 masonry bit and drilled at the marks. I put the anchors in the ground like the instructions said, lifted and placed the rack over the anchors and bolted them down.
The rack is solid and doesn't move.

If you want to make it taller your going to have to sleeve it. You will need to find square pipe that will fit inside your current rack so can bolt or weld it in to you rack and make it taller. Thats the only way I know of to safely do it.
