Depending on your goals and methods of training you may need more or less of one macro or another. I think the Whole9 approach is pretty solid though I'd recommend not relying exclusively on nuts as your fat source.
Eric said it well zone is pain in the *** and IMO is not sustainable for most people unless you want to spend half your day planning your blocks measuring your food etc. Lame if you ask me. I would rather eat when I am hungry and eat what me body is telling me i.e fat, pro, or carbs. Everyone is different and it takes time to see what you perform and feel best doing. I do great w little carbs and high fat pro probably around 60/30/10 split. I think most people on the boards will agree unmeasured Paleo is more sustainable than zone and for me gives MUCH better results.

I was asking these same questions on the board about a year ago and after trying zone, paleo, zone/paleo, etc I have found unmeasured paleo and just listening to my body works best for ME.

I did in restricted paleo today and it felt like a reliefe. Granted I stick to the prescribed portion sizes and add Exocets accordingly I'll be fine

It's just the way they recommend visualizing portion sizes. Nothing fancy.

Be nice! They have a meal template that they suggest for portion control. Nothing as specific as zone, just a visual guideline. They do focus on pre/post WOD nutrition a good bit too. Promise that is just a smidge of what they "teach" at a workshop. I found it to be worth every penny!

As for my answer to the original question, I have never transitioned from one to the other and am still trying to find the right answer for me.

Yeah nothing against them just hard to get behind a company that has been very critical of CrossFit, the very same community that allowed them to get to where they are at.

That's not saying much considering that the vast majority of the regular posters here are much more critical of crossfit than Dallas & Melissa.
