Re: Review of New Squat Stands

I got mine shipped to the fire station, so when I return to work tomorrow, I'll slap them together. They shipped FedEx from NJ to PA in a day. I would have shipped them to my house had I known that. Oh wait, if the wife saw them arrive she'd be hammerin' me, "What did you buy now!?!?!??!?"

Re: Review of New Squat Stands

Zac,

I have ordered two of the new squat stands from my friends at Sorinex.
They are the same stand as the high low hook stand. The only difference is the the hooks are now J hooks instead of adjustable with pins. This makes it a lot easier when training multiple people. The only thing that stinks is it takes 6-8 weeks to make and ship. I ordered their GHD 4 weeks ago and they were able to add the stands to that shipment. Bert is very informative with designs of the equipment. It's great that they are in town also.

Re: Review of New Squat Stands

I put mine together today and used them for the WOD. They worked great and will work well in my basement gym. I'll write up a review and give my thoughts when I get a chance...

Re: Review of New Squat Stands

I built them (in about 10 min) and set them up, but no bar until MON (12 NOV) so I can't give an honest review until then. More to follow...

Re: Review of New Squat Stands

I used these stands the other night for the first time and they worked great. They are easy to adjust and very stable. My only concern with them is putting a heavily loaded bar on the adjustable racks on the lower portion. These are only supported by a thin piece of flat stock and I could see that being a weak point. I'll snap an image of it an upload in a bit.

These stands appear to be a great addition to a home gym for someone who isn't moving a lot of weight around. If I were in the CFT 1000+ club, I'd probably go with something a little more rugged. All things considered, they appear to be great value for the money.

Here's the 'directions' that were mentioned earlier:

Re: Review of New Squat Stands

Mine came, install was cake and no issues. Seem great, not loaded them yet but others have. They are definitely the best for the price - all the features of the top shelf models, just half (700lbs) the weight rating - not a problem for me right now.

On the other hand, I wish I had the set made from tire irons that was on the affil blog last week! One for squats, one for bench, and spend the extra cash on the next thing on my list!
