Re: Mayhem - noun: random or deliberate violence or damage.

MONDAY 090309

Complete as many rounds as you can in twenty minutes of:
5 Handstand Push-ups
10 L Pull-ups
15 Steps, Walking Lunge

Justin
10 rnds + HSPU's and Pull ups
HSPU's were the killer on this one. The first 6 sets were done properly, although not unbroken...they were just eating up time. The last 4 were done with my toes hooked on the smith machine bar. The first 8 sets of L pull ups were done properly and the last 2 were bent knee pull ups. I did 16 lunges on each set so that I didn't have to try and remember to alternate legs.

Shondra
12 or so rounds...not 100%, maybe more. She was going a lot faster than me, doing HSPU's with her feet on a plyo box / bent knee and 55# assisted pull ups.

Looking forward to the CFT tomorrow. Hoping to see some improvements; however, the shoulder press will probably be less as I didn't do it properly on my last CFT.

Re: Mayhem - noun: random or deliberate violence or damage.

TUESDAY 090310

"CrossFit Total"

Back squat, 1 rep
Shoulder Press, 1 rep
Deadlift, 1 rep

Last CFT was on Jan 24, 2009.

Justin's Results:
BS: 295 / 315 last time and really didn't go down low enough on that attempt.
SP: 145 / 165 last time and did them seated, not starting with the bar on my delts.
DL: 405 / 350 last time.
Total: 845 / 820 last time

I felt pretty weak on the back squats. I actually did 315 again, but the form was so crappy that I couldn't count it. Shoulder presses felt crappy too. I felt pretty strong on the dead lifts.

Shondra's Results:
BS: 115 / 105 last time
SP: 45 / 65 last time - same as Justin seated and not correct form
DL: 155 / 135 last time
Total: 315 / 305

Bottom line...we cleaned up our form on some lifts, went down in some, and up in others. Our up was more than down so overall we increased our CFT. Bittersweet victory.

Re: Mayhem - noun: random or deliberate violence or damage.

For the record...yesterday I only did 135 on the shoulder press for a CFT of 835.

Re: Mayhem - noun: random or deliberate violence or damage.

WEDNESDAY 090311

Do a bunch of stuff you don't want to do...I mean...

Complete as many rounds as you can in thirty minutes of:
Five pull-ups
Five ring dips
15 Sit-ups

Justin - as Rx'd - 26 rounds + 5 pull ups + 5 ring dips

Shondra - jumping pull ups - bench dips - 30 rounds + 5 pull ups + 5 dips + 3 sit ups.

I hate losing to girls. The sit ups were definitely the hardest part of this workout. I stopped 3 times to reposition my rings so that my arms wouldn't be bleeding from friction so I might have got another round or two, but who's counting anyways?

Got home from the workout and cracked a beer, cut up meat and veggies for fajitas, cracked another beer, fired up the grill, cracked another beer, ate some fajitas, cracked another beer...you get the point.

Beer - it's what's for dinner.
