Re: Diaz vs GSP

I could see Dana White getting so ****ed with Diaz as champion that he would give him the match he's asked for against Anderson Silva.

Condit vs Hendricks. Wow. What a fight. Wasn't sure that Hendricks would take the decision, but I guess he managed to control the fight well enough. Condit did great to stop Hendricks' KO streak though- there were a few times in that fight I thought it was going to avoid going to the decision.

GSP vs Diaz- Diaz did pretty good in the stand-up, but GSP controlled the fight as usual and managed to get a solid decision. A lot of people complaining about another GSP "lay and pray" decision win, but Diaz is dangerous on the ground, and that showed in the fight. GSP did well to maintain a dominant position and avoid being subbed, but Diaz was too good to allow him to finish it.

Re: Diaz vs GSP

Hendricks looked good. Condit's movement and versatility were a good test in preparing for GSP. GSP looked more tired than usual in the middle rounds and it was surprising to see a guy like Diaz stuff some of his shots, which obviously begs the question of how GSP is going to do in taking down Hendricks.

But back to reality...GSP has looked "vulnerable" in winning 9 out of 10 rounds since his comeback while Hendricks could have lost the decision to either Condit or Koschek, guys that GSP beat handily. Hendricks has the power to compete with GSP, but not the speed or the cardio and I think that will show up when they fight. This is the boxing equivalent of Froch-Ward and I expect it to be about as competitive when it happens.

Re: Diaz vs GSP

Crazy how much damage 5 or 6 quick punches from Diaz can do, he is a mean boxer. GSP did a good job shutting him down though. What did Diaz mean by,"it was kinda weird how he knew what I would do"? Was he suggesting that somebody from his team leaked his ground game plan to the GSP camp?

He thinks that pictures of him in training were leaked to GSP by Jeff Sherwood (the guy who started Sherdog) and...well, he just thinks a lot of people are out to get him. Apparently he was even disadvantaged in having to fight on the East coast and had trouble waking up in time to get prepared--meaning he wasn't ready for a fight that started at approximately 9:00 p.m. west coast time.

Re: Diaz vs GSP

I can't believe Diaz is already making excuses and demanding a rematch.
