Re: Mind Maps for BJJ Instructionals

I know of two other people who do this as well. One has an entire journal stacked with drawings and maps. The other has this MASSIVE piece of paper that looks like the wiring diagram to a 56 Buick and then all kinds of letters and annotations to each one that are referenced in a journal as well.

Both are black belts and have their own schools and are unreal at transitions and their overall understanding of BJJ and grappling in general. Definitely helps to know the groundwork and concept of how things work, then you will essentially thrive when it comes to learning new moves and applications.

These are really intended as a supplement to the videos and aren't intended to be super in-depth.

I assume you're referring to the Stephan Kesting Roadmap to BJJ series and the Turtle chart. I'll put "establish and position" a lot and don't really get too in-depth beyond that.

However, one of my interactive maps is all about establishing position, grips, etc... and would be a good place to start for that type of info.

Did that answer the question? The other thing is that you'll see a difference in my early maps and my later ones. There is definitely an evolution in my ability to break down the videos and also my understanding of what I was watching.
