Here's something I found recently and think might be helpful for those of you who are relegated to the treadmill for lack of a track.

This program uses satellite pictures to measure out street running routes. Pretty useful to see how far you actually are running.

Download the full install. Once you get it running, open the "Route" menu. Start drawing distances and get happy. I found it pretty interesting to compare the actual distance of some courses to the length I guessed based on pain. Some were longer, some shorter than I thought.

One more thing. When you open it up, use the "GoTo" menu to find your address. Then press F to fill in the satellite picture. Hope this helps.

What a useful tool this is! Right on time for me, since I have been trying to figure out how to figure the distances better than the car odometer. Thank You!

This is the kind of cool stuff that causes that leads to reduced productivity in the workplace ;-)I'd love to play with this awesome tool but work beckons.
