Trigger Point Therapy

I have had a sore shoulder for 7 weeks now. No lifts, no presses, nothing upper body wise for 7 weeks. The rest helped, but I still had pain.

I recalled others on the board recommending trigger point. So today I went to see Lisa Henderson in Carrboro NC....Highly recommend her.

The pain is actually in my bicep. She found multiple trigger points, and went a long way toward releasing them all. 30 minutes of INTENSE work. I can tell that it really helped,. I'm still groggy from it. I'm sore from where she released (done by pointed, deep pressure directly on the trigger point). But the bicep feels much better.

A massage therapist skilled in trigger point can really help you.

Re: Trigger Point Therapy

Good reminder. Glad she helped.

I've got a 90 minute trigger point massage appointment for next Tuesday as I'm trying out a new massage therapist*. She'll find out that Crossfitters get their $$$$ worth and she'll be the one getting the intense workout

*I found out that my health-care provider (Kaiser Permanente) has a benefit group called www.choosehealthy.com (wf/s) where you can get discounted prices on massage, chiropractic, etc. $45 for a professional 1 hr massage is a good price. I recommend people check if their health-care provider offers something similar.
