Beth,

The listening and the calling are 2 separate functions. Think of your computer as a radio. It will receive streaming audio over the internet (through most media players) just as a radio receives audio over the air. The only requirements are:

Installed media player (both Apple and PC come with these players)
An Internet connection (preferably broadband)
A working pair of speakers hooked up to your computer (if you can hear your computer's goofy little audio cues, then you have these)

At the time the show begins (Sunday 7PM pst) just go to www.crossfitlive.com and click on the "Listen Live" link. It will launch your media player and begin to play the live audio. You can test your system by clicking this link:

(this is another radio stations live stream)

http://www.kgoam810.com/listenlive.asp

Then click on the MP3 Stream icon. Let me know what happens.

Hope this helps.

Dave

Looking forward to this, if I can stay up that late! (9:00pm CST--yes, I'm an old man). If not, I will definitely catch the archives. Either way, I just wanted to say thanks for making it happen for us.

I stuck a post-it note to my computer monitor:

"Crossfit live, sunday - 9 P.M. BE THERE, JERK!"

Hmmm, for some reason I could not connect--I tried the KGO link that Dave posted, it works just fine, so is it possible that the server can only accept so many connections???

Was anyone else not able to get on? I bet the next question Brian Mulvaney will want to know is our type of computer, our internet speed, and whatever other technical info you are usually asked by the tech folks who make all this stuff happen.

My only comments otherwise are that it would be cool to have a front page to look at as we listen. Maybe something as simple as a photo album of crossfit photos that circles through automatically. And last comment is that the sound was awesome and I could hear well but sometimes coach faded out a bit. I think that is probably due to it being a phone connection though.

All in all, this was an awesome show and I hope it the archives work cause I want to share it with some folks.

Beth,

I had a little trouble getting a player to open CrossFit live at first. Still haven't figured out how to get my RealPlayer to work. But by opening the Windows media player, then clicking on the "File" tab, then clicking on "Open URL" and copying and pasting http://radio1.crossfit.com:32000/
worked.

Greg & Dave, that was a GREAT show! We're all looking forward to the next one!
