Re: Things I love

Things i love..

the smell of the flowers before you see them

the smell of rain just as the picnic has ended

feel of the wind on my face while on the beach

those last miles after a long trip to see my family

first day of summer, fall, summer

hearing an old song youve not heard in years

finish line of along race

crowds that cheer you on when they dont know you

fresh baked bread, or someone grilling steaks gotta love that smell

good set of bar b que ribs...omg..!!!

Re: Things I love

Scotch that is older than I am.
The first breath of super cold Minnesota winter air that freezes the nose hairs.
The whole gym gathering around to watch a PR deadlift attempt, then nailing it.
A weekend with absolutely nothing planned, nowhere to go, nothing to do.
Watching olympic lifts in slow motion and realizing I actually can pick out faults and how to correct them.
Convincing someone to try CrossFit, then watching them run with it.
Absolutely powdering a clay pigeon.

Re: Things I love

My mom's yard from mid-May to the 4th of July. Her green thumb is amazing.
Watching my boys play baseball. One makes it look effortless, the other makes it look like sheer joy. Either way - two homerun games like we had yesterday make us all smile.
Watching my daughter swim. She finally found a passion.
Hearing The Guy laugh. It's stupid and cheesy but his laughter always makes me smile.
Cold beer, low lights, a pool table, and some Texas country.
My Jeep. I wanted one for six years before I got it, and it's exactly what I wanted.
Crisp sheets. The higher threadcount the better.
My brothers. I miss them. A lot.
Fresh cut grass.
Hearing my kids giggle.

Kittehs!!! That and the thought of leaving the 200's and 300's beyond on the squat and deadlift and start doing my worksets in the 300's and 400's.

Re: Things I love

a bit sappy but here goes:

new songs on my ipod.
the thrill of having that occasional sugar in my coffee while I'm driving to Starbucks
small children laughing and being happy
subtle little smiles from nice looking females
cheese, all kinds

training/cf related:
the sound of a room full of bars slamming on the floor repeatedly on deadlift day.
The way the elbows quickly flip up when cleaning.
The expression that Natalie Burgener makes when she does her first pull.
Natalie Burgener in general.
The feel of just the right amount of friction between my hands and the pull up bar.
Being the last one to finish the wod but having everyone stay and cheer you on until you're done.
the friendly handshake or the pound at the end of the wod from the guy who I was neck and neck with.
The drive home after hitting a PR, acquiring a new skill or just doing exceptionally well.

Second all these. Makes me smile just thinking about them, and reminds me why I don't miss staying up late or drinking every day, because those things are better.

Re: Things I love

- The feeling of lifting a heavy weight off the ground or shoving a heavy object into the air or off my chest.
- The feel of cool water flowing over me as I swim through it.
- Finishing a WOD (double if it's Rx'd)
- Reading a good book or watching a good movie.
- Rest days
- Seven to nine hours of sleep
- Watching Primeval (favorite TV series of mine).
