Re: Obliques - Best way to develop?

These days I just snatch, press, clean and jerk, squat, and do a couple WODs a week. Have always had obliques, have never isolated abs. Genetics + consistent compound movements + single digits body fat does the trick.

Yeah, Aushion those are pretty awesome and fun.

I used to like doing Front Lever circles or Body circles to a Flex arm Hang. It's bit like an "Ice-Cream Maker" on Rings or FL pull but you circle and then reverse directions.

You can also do Hanging wipers, especially against a stall bar if you want to crush yourself or Flag/Side Lever work.

GHD Arch circles are good as well, especially when weighted. They also seem to pop my back sometimes and that feels good.

There's a video somewhere of Lu Xiaojun doing those side bends with a barbell. Except he kept the barbell balanced on his back, had greens on each side and did side bends on both sides rocking the barbell back and forth. I tried it and it's awesome.

+1 on extra ab work as well. Another infinite scaler and possible hardest ab exercise ever is the ab wheel. It's an amazing builder of midline stabilizing.

Lose fat and/or do hypertrophy exercises for the muscles in the obliques. It seems like your goals are more asthetics oriented with this question. read the fitness reddit FAQ. Cross fit is not an aesthetics or recomposition training style.
