Is this a good shoe to start for Crossfit WODs and strength training?

What do y'all think of these shoes? Or heard of anything? They are NB Minimus version 2 but heard they are not really an upgrade from the original one.

Are they good? If not what is a some good shoes (WFS)

You would do well in those to start crossfit with...what you want to avoid is a bulky running type shoe. More grounded footwear with a stable base, like the Reebok Nano's, is the most versatile as you can do heavy lifts, run, jump, etc. all effectively. Eventually you may want to invest in a pair of lifting shoes to help with heavier squatting and oly lifts. Just my two cents.

Definitely not a bad choice if you like them though!

I had V1, great shoes for Crossfit and strength training. Not as good as just a lifting shoe but I liked squatting in them a lot. These will be fine.

My current shoe usage model is:

- If there's a lot of running in the WOD, I wear a low-profile running shoe of some sort. Right now, that's a Mizuno something-or-other.

- If there's a moderate amount of running but most of the WOD is more lifting or gymnastic/bodyweight stuff, then I wear one of my several pair of Onitsuka Ultimate 81's. I love this shoe for its versatility. By design, it's a running shoe, but it is low-profile enough and firm enough to use for lifting movements as well.

- If there's little to no running, I wear Converse Chuck Taylors. I love Chucks but despise running in them.

It may seem like a hassle to manage footwear this way, but it works for me.
