I've been following the KB Snatch thread and it's got me slightly confused.

I've been using similar form for both snatches and cleans (KB and barbell) based on the CFJ Clean Issue's (July 03) description of technique. Both my snatches and cleans start like a deadlift (primarily relying on hams, glutes and hips). I reach the explosion point just after passing my knees, at which time I explode using my hams, hips and traps, squat into a clean or snatch position. When all is said and done I'm sore in my traps, hams and glutes (sometimes). Is this the correct place to feel it?

Your form sounds fine. For me the form when KB/DB snatching is very different than when BB snatching.

I have noticed more trap soreness when doing powercleans than squat cleans. I am not sure if this menas I am over extending on the power versions or under contracting on the squat version.
