Re: Tire Flips (What size tire??)

Old combine tire, 23.1-30. Weighs ~325#. Loader tires are much heavier because of the application.

Picked mine up on Craigs List; as mentioned earlier, the big shops will give these away.

Perfect for plyo jumps, sledge blows, and of course, flipping. Neighbors will love you for it. Drill the sidewalls for the self-draining feature.

Re: Tire Flips (What size tire??)

I cant believe it but people actually keep taking the tires from behind my gym. I know this hurricane didnt blow it away because it went too far south. Spending a load of money on gas picking up more tires.
I think its kind of funny.

Re: Tire Flips (What size tire??)

You can google your tire size and find out the weight. Another place to look for tires is at any crane business.

Re: Tire Flips (What size tire??)

Thanks for the info. A fellow CrossFitter knew a guy who was getting rid of tires up here in Philly. It's too expensive to dump it in New Jersey so they just give them away. I Have two now and one still has the wheel in it...going to be an interesting workout with the added weight.

Re: Tire Flips (What size tire??)

I've been selling tires for about 5 years now. I never did any crossfit training before that, and I can flip a 500# tire at least once, maybe twice. I can flip a 350 - 450 enough times to really get a good cardio going, but 300-350 is ideal for me to get at least 8 reps, and I'm 54. We're in Lockport, Il and I always have lots of tires of all different weights. We're also on craigslist and crossfittires.com Scott Bestler
