Harrison "Crossfit Neophyte" McPherson's Training Log
Harrison McPherson
30 years old McAllen, Texas 5' 8" 230lbs 28% Body Fat. First day of Crossfit. Feb 27th, Sat, 2010. WOD. Brand X. RX'd: Puppies: 5 Squats 5 Push-ups 5 Pull-ups assisted 5 Sit-ups 15 Squats 15 Push-ups 15 Pull-ups assisted 15 Sit-ups 25 Squats 25 Push-ups 25 Pull-ups assisted 25 Sit-ups 8:30 Can’t wait to do real pull ups on my own again!!!! Still trying to learn how to do "crossfit" pullups vs Marine Corps Dead Hang. Either way, surprised I cant even do more than 3 pullups unassisted; It's a start. Going to read more about Zone dieting, blocks, etc. Went grocery shopping, bought tupperware, an ice chest, scale, and other needed supplies. Hope to order some bands, gym rings, and other basic equipment I can use in the gym until I can start ordering my own olympic bumpers and other stuff. All in all......baby steps..... ![]() |

Day 2
Day 2:
Crossfit Warm up WOD Rx'd for us puppies Was suppose to be Three rounds for time of: 10 Muscle-up progressions of your choice 35 Squats 15 Situps Some how, I copied it down wrong and wrote 15 pullups, 50 squats, 15 situps, and 35 back extensions. My WOD: 15 pullups (assisted) 50 squats 15 GHD situps 35 back extensions 17:35 Started the Zone diet. I want to get a routine down before I try to go Paleo too. Don't want to try and do too much at once. I love the 4 block breakfast with oatmeal, grapes, cottage cheese, walnuts, and protein powder. Its awesome. The snack is good too half an apple with 1oz of cheese and walnuts. I need to find a good lunch and dinner with greens thats not too expensive. Drinking LOTS of water. I cheated today and ate some of my gfs pumpkin bread. I could of said no but it was her first attempt and well yeah already with the excuses so thats enough for today. |

Tuesday: Rest day because I worked Texas elections all day until 2am.
Wednesday: Shoulder press up to 160lbs 3 rep max Today rest day but looking forward to Friday's workout. Hopefully, going to buy the Zone easy minute meals. I don't have a lot of the organic foods or variety of foods available here that California does. The ones I do find I can't really afford. So hopefully, that will help or I can find some zone meals for college students or something. Either way, motivated and gonna keep on with Crossfit. |

Four years later and I found my original log!!
Just joined All Sport Crossfit in Houston. My last year of law school so, hopefully, we stick to it this time. I'll post the WOD and times tomorrow. |

Run to W.Alabama, Row 500 Meters, 50 Double Unders (In ANY ORDER) Strength/Skill: Tabata Deadlift (275/185) (35lbs bar and 10lbs plates to work on form) WOD: 5 Rounds: 250 Meter Row Lunge to Pullup Rig 10 Pull-ups (mod using a black band) Run to JITB (mod to the first stop sign) Cool Down: 25 Calories on the Assault Bike, 25 GHD Sit-ups |
