Re: The Crossfit cop-out?

For all of us in the frozen areas with snow how about instead of "too cold & icey" slap on some snow shoes.
I'd say Cross Ctry Skis but thats as boring as running.
Then there is always the Rocky 4 method

Sled Pull? That should totally be a WOD!

Re: The Crossfit cop-out?

I would answer the question about rowing, but this thread has gotten so blatantly retarded that I don't even want to touch it.

Some new forum members with a conversational level of about age 14 have wandered into this community. I'm not naming names but most of them are in this thread, and it's not adding to the discourse.

READ your posts, JUSTIFY your points, and if you're not saying ANYTHING then DON'T POST IT.

Re: The Crossfit cop-out? tempting to post a response to the cop-out question but I'm with Brandon, just silliness at this point. As Rodney King said once, "Can't we all just get along?"

Re: The Crossfit cop-out?

Odd choice for a first post, but here I go:

Maybe the WOD for running is misnamed. Instead of "Run 5k", it should read "For time, cover 5km on foot. Post method, load, and time for comments."

This would stress the functionality (covering the distance in the least time possible), allow for variation (running, run/walk, snow-shoeing), and let CFs set their weight (i.e. running with a vest, ruck, a person on their back) to allow the WOD to be more suited to different needs/situations while still setting a common baseline for comparison.

Re: The Crossfit cop-out?

Hmmm, "blatantly retarded," and that's above the 14 years of age level? Yes, this post has gotten a bit out of hand, but, if someone asks a question, let's all try and give an educated or positive response, whether you agree with what the person is asking, suggesting, saying, etc or not. If you think about it, when it all boils down, we are arguing about WORKING OUT! That is RETARDED. If you don't like to run, then DON'T RUN. If you feel that crossfit is a "copout" cause we don't run enough, then good for you, RUN THEN! And if "someone" asks a simple question about rowing, either answer it or don't, but don't post "I was going to answer the question about rowing, but..." Keep your mouth shut and go do the WOD...or RUN! Babies around here sometimes.

Re: The Crossfit cop-out?

It's a shame to see this community showing it's rear end and behaving like a bunch of LESS THAN 14 year olds. Must be y'all think this is some other forum...
