Coach,
You going to open this up to CrossFit Kids and Teens? If so I have a couple that are interested.

Re: Starting Team CrossFit Olympic Lifting Team

its open to everyone. i am within the next week or so sign up TEAM CROSSFIT as a usaw team. my hopes are that crossfitters of all ages, sizes will sign up under our team. i am hoping then that we can represent our local affiliate at a in the future crossfit national championship.....but when we compete within usaw we will compete as team crossfit. i would really like this thing to get big. coach g and lauren support us and i think we can be good from what i am seeing at my certs.

Re: Starting Team CrossFit Olympic Lifting Team

crossfit has done more for weightlifting in the usa than any other organization in the last 20 or more years. crossfit embraces the oly lifts as part of base philosophy. i have been doing the oly cert for crossfit for 4 yrs now. i cannot believe the improvement in the performance of crossfit athletes attending the cert. i feel that crossfit as a team can compete nationally if they so desire. however, the base reason to form a team is to HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE GREAT SPORT OF OLYMPIC STYLE WEIGHTLIFTING. if we can form a crossfit team that can compete at local, regional, and national contests and enjoy the comradre and have some good old fashion fun while making ourselves stronger and more powerful, then we are on the right track.

Re: Starting Team CrossFit Olympic Lifting Team

How (or would) this work for someone without an affiliate nearby?

Camille, you wouldn't have to train at an affiliate, you would just have to register as a member of Team Crossfit. Training programs could be relayed via email/internet much like many CFers do now.

I might be interested, but would definitely benefit from some expert eyes on my form.

Re: Starting Team CrossFit Olympic Lifting Team

I'm in. Anyone who needs a place to train can come here. I've been competing and coaching since 96 (East Coast Gold), not as long as Coach B. but I really love the sport and am willing to help in anyway.
