Pood to pound conversion

Just a quick question...how much does a pood, 1.5 pood, 2 pood, etc. weigh in pounds. I only have access to dumbells for KB swings. I usually go with what can manage/what is somewhat of a challenge.

A pood is close to 26lbs if I remember correctly. Google is my friend, even if it does spy on me.

I was always under it impression it was 1 pood was 32. 2 pood was 72. 1.5 pood was 54. 3 pood was the 108 beast.

I could be completely off base on this one. I remember Allen commenting on this before, but I can't find it anywhere.

They have it listed in the FAQ:

Russian measure used for kettlebells; common ones: 1 pood =36 lbs; 1.5 pood = 54 lbs; 2 pood = 72 lbs. Approx db equivalents are 35, 55, 70

I was rofling 36 versus 35.935348736, not your typo...funny how the KG conversion only results in one significant digit, probably a good historical reason for that, or a good modern one.
