Making extra money as a coach

Hello, I am currently seeking ways in which to generate more income for myself, as well as my box. In a sense, I will be starting my own business from within a business. I am currently developing my website for marketing my personal training services, but I'm a bit concerned about using the term CrossFit.

I will be training my future clients within the affiliated box I currently coach at, but does this give me permission to advertise CrossFit training on my own website?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Omar,
if you advertise CrossFit on your website, you have to be an affililiate - for sure!

best

Re: Making extra money as a coach

Many gyms use this method. Most famous would be CrossFit New England. Ben Bergeron has done some videos, he may talk about it in one of them.

His coaches get to keep 80 to 90% of what they charge. They sell 1/2 hour appointments.

Would have to work it out with owner if you want to bring in nonmembers.

Simplest way is to do everything in the affiliate business so you don't have problems with using CrossFit name and can use the same insurance.

It is a good business model because it allow the gym to offer both lower price memberships for the price sensitive people and a higher priced more personal service for those who want it and can afford it. Coaches can create a full time income for themselves without the gym having to support a payroll that is too large for the membership base.

You cannot say you coach CrossFit but I believe you are still allowed to say Level 1 CF Trainer. Actually, I'm not even sure with all the changes.
