Since going strictly Paleo about a year ago or so, I get hemroids from time to time. Obviously this is a very embarrasing issue to discuss on an open forum but from what I gather it is most likely related to my diet. Does anyone know anything about this topic to offer advice or have any experiences to share?
Its not like I have problems with proper bowel movement from all the fruits and veggies I eat. I dunno what gives? think diet is to blame in this case or something else?

Steve,

It's not diet related but try putting your feet on a box about 6" high (I use the box from my DVD player) when you sit on the toilet. I had some pretty mild but nonetheless annoying 'roids before I read about doing this. According to the author, our natural defication position is a full squat which helps the bowel to completely empty with less strain. Don't know if that the truth but I do know it worked for me.

Interesting.thanks guys.

ps Chris, thanks for the grass-fed ground meat recommendation you made in another post. I ordered it the other day from US Wellness and it tastes delicious.

Lol advising against eating almonds here is certainly a voice of dissent. I am curious, why? The fibre?

This reminds me of a story that one of my colleagues told me. He was working as a supervisor down south and one day a couple of the guys under him complained about finding footprints on the toilet seats in the shop floor bathroom.

It took them a while to put 2 and 2 together but turns out that some of the immigrant workers they had hired had little to no experience with porcelain toilets, so they just did what came as natural and apparently healthy!

Yeah, what's up with the almonds?

Coincidently, I just stopped eating almonds temporairly 'cause I read to avoid almonds for tinnitus, and I just started noticing ringing in my ears, so, I'm off almonds for a bit to see if the ringing lessens or not.

I know De Vany advises against nut consumption because they have lots of toxins in them...

Doesn't stop me from eating them (at least yet).

Wierd thing is I eat a lot of nuts. I buy a bag of raw mixed nuts at TJ's every Sun and end up going through them by Wed. Not to mention the bag of sunflower seeds and Macnut cashew butter I snack on as well. Never had a suspicion up until now. Gonna cut it out for a few wks and see if that is the culprit.

Thanks.
