Stall mats near NYC?

Does anyone know where I can pick up a stall mat (or an alternative) in the NYC area? There are no local TSCs around here. Would home depot have anything suitable? My neighbor is complaining about my dropping bumpers on the concrete in my backyard.

The home depot out here carries 18"x18" rubber pavers that would work. They are around $8 a piece.

Hey Jay,

I drove up to a TSC in Syracuse, and I'm on Long Island. I had to go up there for work so I made it a multi-purpose trip. The mats are pretty serious so make sure you have a pickup or a full size+ SUV to haul them and a helper to unload them. I used an Excursion and the mats barely fit.

Re: Stall mats near NYC?

there is also a tractor supply store in NJ that you can go to.
i bought 4 of these and had to fold them up (not an easy task) and put them in the back of my small SUV.
they store them outdoors at TSC and the rubber stench is pretty foul.
i bought them in the summer and the stench stills lingers in the basement.

i was alone and it was no easy task, they weigh 100 lbs each so i tied a strap around them to make it easier to carry.
after that WOD i was done for the day.
i suggest having another person helping you.

Re: Stall mats near NYC?

Yeah, I got mine at the Tractor Supply store in Flanders, NJ also. Good thing I only needed 2, cause the were a PITA to get into the back seat of the car; didn't fit in my trunk. They were $40 each 4x6 and I think 3/4" think. I would've gotten the thinner ones if I knew how difficult it was to move them around by myself, but I guess that's what CrossFit prepares you for. That should be a new event in the Games - moving stall mats.

What part of BK are you guys from? Any pics of the home gym? I just started buying equipment.

Jay, there is a Tractor Supply in Chester NY...up in Orange County. Kind of near the Woodbury Commons.

Probably 1.25 hrs from you. I got my mats there....they are awesome!

Re: Stall mats near NYC?

if you google for 'tack and feed' shop, maybe you'll get something. any kind of horse supplier might carry them, although my guess is you'll have to do at least a little driving.

Re: Stall mats near NYC?

Thanks for all of our help guys. Someone on this board sent me a private message and I will be buying some off of him. Much easier than driving to NJ.
