Re: Fight Gone Bad by yourself

A good stop watch will suffice, I bought whatever one was recommended in the journals (or the faq, somewhere, I forget). It works great for things like this or tabata with all its beeping and repeating multiple intervals and whatnot. I don't know what I'd do with my stopwatch, the brand of which I do not pay attention to.... And yeah you lose some points doing it alone writing down your score during the transit time from one station to another.

Ryan,

That's what kids are for. I have 3 daughters and can always coerce one of them to come down to the basement gym and keep score for me. Barring that, a good stopwatch and a few seconds lost writing your score works.

Re: Fight Gone Bad by yourself

Well one of our other fine friends posted an mp3 with signals to switch every 65 secs, and the songs change at those times too.

I wasn't too keen on the music selections, but that's all just a matter of opinion, so I made a couple of my own. Each has a buzzer at the start, and then one every 65 seconds (60 secs for work, 5 secs for transition)... there are a total of 17 periods (three rounds + 2 rests) and the end is signaled by the sound of some kids cheering "yayyyyy"... just a little something to congratulate you at the end!

#1:Beats- A mix of Black Eyed Peas songs (pre-Fergie sellout) from the Behind the Front and Bridging the Gap albums: http://www.filecrunch.com/file/~wlrl3e

#2: Groove - A mix of King's X songs from the Tape Head and Dogman albums: http://www.filecrunch.com/file/~uduu16

Think I might post this in a couple other spots since I found it to be really helpful when doing the WOD on my own! Hope it helps you, too!

Re: Fight Gone Bad by yourself

Just a note that the Rxed workout does not include additional transition time. Maybe you could do the same thing but build the transition into each 60 sec round. Everyone has to deal with the transition whether they are doing it by themselves or with an affiliate.

Cheers, kempie

Thanks, Anthony. Never thought about doing it that way, but set my watch up do beep every 60 seconds per your post. Worked great.

I also use the interval timer. HQ has sensored the name because the company is offering a free t-shirt to anyone who purchases the timer and posts a message telling how the timer has improved their workout experience.

I love what you did Paul, damn !

Next FGB, I'll rock this in my ears, it'll definitely help !

Thanks !

PS : John Frusciante, that's what I call a 1 minute break from all the madness ! But the rest before round 3 is pure genius haha

Re: Fight Gone Bad by yourself

Well I'm glad someone else liked it!
And round 3 is my tribute to the Rocky movies. Always had a soft spot for those overly cheesy movies =]

I also use it on WODS where I don't have time to check the clock. It helps me keep minute pace on things like running 400m. (I try to keep 1 minute per 200m.)

Re: Fight Gone Bad by yourself

I just have my old lady out in the garage with me telling me when a minute is up. I can't believe no one else thought of doing this.
